THE DELPHI MURDERS - PRIMER

One of the most baffling unsolved murders in recent years is the brutal killing of Abby and LIbby. These murders have come to be known as the Delphi murders. This is going to be the first post here covering this, as there is a ton of information to go over.

The day was February 13th 2017.

That day wasn’t a school day as planned. Students had the day off as it was a scheduled snow back up day. The pair of friends got together and went to the Monon High Bridge Trail.

At some point during their outing they noted they were being followed by a man. This was so concerning it prompted Libby to take her phone out and record the man. That’s what makes this even stranger. They have video and voice of the killer, but they have not been able to find him yet.

The cause of death and state the bodies were found in has never been released. This has lead to rampant speculation and the thought that perhaps there is a serial killer. Things referred to as “signatures” were left at the scene but what these were has never been revealed either. 

So lets look at the possibilities here:

You have someone who appears to be out looking to do something to someone. Over the span of under 30 minutes, he wrangles two girls and gets them off the trails and apparently killed them in a very brutal and unusual fashion.

Another weird thing about this case is the two different police sketches. Two sketches have been released. One looks very similar to the man caught on video,  but the second looks like a much younger man. 

The man on the bridge caught on camera is mostly refer to as Bridge Guy, or BG at this point and the general consensus is that he is in fact the killer.

If this person was out there specifically looking for young girls at this time then he had to have some knowledge of the school schedule and that school would be closed for that day.

Or there is always the chance he didn’t realizes they were children. Either way, he seems to be there for the sole reason of hunting someone down. 

Now let's look further on who this person could be:

A: Random guy, wanting to attack people to get something out of his system.

B: Random guy, looking to abduct someone. Runs out of time and ends up killing them.

C: Someone who knows them but they don't recognize, like a stalker/creeper situation. And the above two intents apply here.

D: Someone who has a personal problem with the family of either girl and wants to make some sort of sick statement.

Things would be much easier to theorize and draw connections if we had more points and facts about the scene to draw connections from. But this is one of those situation where investigators are being extremely tight lipped.

Things that have been released are a clip of the man aka Bridge Guy (BG) walking and audio of a man saying "Down the hill." They later released more audio with the word "Guys" added to the front before the down the hill command. There has also been two different composite sketches released. Both of them appear to be very different looking men.
